Hours: 6:00AM – 6:00PM M-F

We provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks as well as baby food and formula. We provide transportation to and from local schools.

Bullock, Caldwell, Cooper, Daughtery, Ethridge, Freeman/Golden Meadows, Hillside, Kimberlin, Parkcrest/Williams, Shorehaven, Watson, Weaver

The care of your child is a partnership between home and school. We value parent involvement at every level and encourage you to partner with us. Get in touch with us to learn how you can stay involved in your child’s learning and play at the school. We use the ProCare App to communicate with parents.

About Us

Lynda Francis established the Happy Days School 1977. Since then she has owned and managed the daycare. Many children who have been cared for and treated like family at Happy Days. We even have children attending who are the third generation in their family to come to Happy Days.

The Director, Dee Merritt, has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Leadership, along with having a teaching certification for public schools. Some teachers and staff at Happy Days have been here twenty nine years. We believe that good child care comes from having a passion and love of children along with continual professional development.

Each teacher is required to have 30 hours of professional development each year along with CPR and First Aid. All of our staff has a criminal background check done before they may begin working with the children.

We are Texas Rising Star certified, Texas School Ready, and use the ABEKA curriculum. We offer discounts for children whose parents are City of Garland & GISD employees.

Just want to give Happy Days School staff their flowers especially my littles teachers Mrs.Woods PK-4 , Ms.Brandley PK-3, and Ms.Felita w/ the older 2 year olds they are truly amazing women, my children have been here 2 months and have learned so much and gotten so comfortable I don’t have to force them to go they look forward to school, it’s refreshing after moving around to different daycares trying to find one that aligns with our goals for our children. My daughters therapist have expressed she feel this change was good for them, it’s an upgraded environment/experience from where they came. I’m grateful we’ve finally landed at our sweet spot. I’m so happy I ran across this school it’s like a treasure, I want to gatekeep it lol but I definitely recommend this center to any parent that want quality care and education for their little/s thank you Mrs. Dee and Happy Days staff we wholeheartedly appreciate you all!!!

Happy days is an excellent school that took our daughter in when she had some challenges that other schools did not want to deal with. When she was a year old, she would have breath holding spells frequently and the other school we had her at kicked her out because they “ couldn’t handle it and didn’t want the liability”. At the time , which we were most desperate, Happy Days understood the challenge, and took us in without question. For that, we are forever grateful. The management team and teaching staff, love our daughter and they treat me and my wife, as well as my daughter with respect. I partly credit them with helping my daughter through her breath holding spells which she no longer has. Our daughter also has good language skills and good social skills for her age all of which come from Happy Days. If we have another child, we will definitely be bringing her/him to Happy Days.

We came to this daycare after having a real bad experience else where and i can honestly say this is the best decision i have ever made! My kids love it here the teachers are great and the director listen to every concern and issue and resolves right away. I love it here

My son was in Miss Jordan’s 3s class and it was a wonderful experience.
My son has Down Syndrome and we couldn’t get any facility to be willing to work with some of his needs and Happy Days did not miss a beat. Time and time again Ms. Dee and the staff were willing to work with us and help support Lucah.
Most days that I came to pick Lucah up, any staff that brought him up could tell me what he had been doing, that he had been someone’s buddy through the day, that they just loved having him there.
I always felt safe with my son in their care. The only reason we chose to leave is because my kiddo is starting ECSE in our school district. I would hands down recommend this day care to anyone.

Family Engagement Activities

Happy Days believes that the family is an important part of our job. Each year we have activities for families to engage with their children and other families. We do things like family swim night, movie night, Thanksgiving feast, Christmas program, Graduation ceremony, Literacy night, Science night, family skate night and Knights and My Lady Family Ball. The teachers do assessments on the children and have parent conferences to discuss and plan for the goals for each child.
