Happy Days believes that each child is unique and can succeed at their optimal level with appropriate support. Children are capable and competent, regardless of their levels of development as they progress through the year. Teaching will be responsive to the individualized needs of each child.  Children learn best when their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs are met and nourished within their environment. Teaching will be intentional and build on children’s intrinsic strengths and interests by providing developmentally appropriate instruction that incorporates many opportunities for interactive experiences, exploration, meaningful play, and problem-solving. Every child has diverse strengths rooted in their family’s culture, background, language, traditions, and beliefs. Children demonstrate growth in many ways.

Private Kindergarten

Do you want your child to learn in a small Christian environment, then Happy Days as the exact class you need.

Happy Days uses the ABEKA curriculum for kindergarten. Private Kindergarten students will enjoy the varied activities as they learn and review vowel and consonant sounds, blends, one- and two-vowel words, words with special sounds, and sentence comprehension. They will use Basic Phonics Readers are twelve small  readers that are an excellent introduction to  reading. The stories and word pages are correlated with the phonics sounds that are presented in class, beginning with one-vowel words and then progressing to two-vowel words. Kindergartners are thrilled with how rapidly they are able to move from one reader to the next. Students will gain a firm foundation in reading and develop a love for books that will last a lifetime.

Numbers Skills will reinforces number concepts and formation through 100, addition and subtraction combinations, number sequences, number words, telling time, and working with money. Some pages are designed to be worked together as a class while others are designed as independent work. Social Studies introduces kindergartners to community helpers, beginnings of American  history, interesting features of countries around the world, and simple geography. Children will enjoy coloring, drawing, and completing other fun activities on the worksheet pages

Even at a very young age, children are curious about everything around them and ask many questions. The science text God’s World is a simple, exciting introduction to God’s plan for the universe. Children will enjoy reading aloud from their first textbook. As the study progresses, even beginning readers will want to read the book aloud because of its intrinsic interest. Units on the five senses, the weather, seasons, seeds, animals, and the seashore all show the amazing wonders of God’s design in this world He has created. Simple drawing and coloring activities highlight the units.

In  Bible, the students will learn stories about God’s creation of the world and about the life of Christ while viewing beautifully illustrated Abeka Flash-Cards. Age-appropriate applications are included in each lesson.
